For an agency to be listed on the web site, it must do one or more of the following:
- Offer services directly to people affected by, at risk for, or living with HIV/AIDS.
- Work within the broader HIV/AIDS movement at the local, provincial or federal level in key areas
such as research, lobbying, funding, prevention education, treatment, and/or information exchange.
- Offer services directly to marginalized communities which may be particularly high-risk for HIV,
including, but not limited to: substance users, street-involved people, sex workers, youth,
gay and bisexual men, men who have sex with other men, women and
ethno-cultural groups.
- Address one or more of the following determinants of health, related specifically to the
well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs) and people at risk for HIV:
- Income and housing
- Social support
- Education
- Employment and working conditions
- Safe communities and community involvement
- Quality of air, water, food
- Personal health practices and coping skills
- Healthy child development
- Health services and access to them
- Gender
- Culture
