Welcome to ASO411, the first web portal
listing all agencies serving people living with and at risk of HIV/AIDS in Canada.
ASO411 is designed to help you find what you need.
ASO411 provides people living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS, and service providers
with accurate, up-to-date information about HIV/AIDS and related services in Canada.
You can search for services by your address, community group or specific need.
The idea for ASO411 came from people living with HIV/AIDS and agencies serving positive
people and those at risk of HIV. During consultations conducted by the Toronto HIV/AIDS Community
Planning Initiative (TCPI) from 2005 to 2006, people living with HIV/AIDS and service
providers said that lack of information creates barriers to needed services.
In response, TCPI mandated the development of an accessible coordinated HIV/AIDS
service information system. From this mandate, the Information and Access Working
Group of the TCPI -in partnership with the Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) developed ASO411.
The Information and Access Working Group included members from the AIDS Committee
of Toronto (ACT), Casey House, Hemophilia Ontario, LOFT Community Services, Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre
and the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation. The Group worked with the OHTN to develop
an easy to use and informative web site.
In 2009, CATIE (the Canadian AIDS Treatment Information Exchange) and Le Portail VIH/sida du Québec partnered with OHTN to make ASO411 available nationally.
Moving forward, the OHTN, CATIE, Le Portail VIH/sida du Québec and ACT will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of ASO411.
The Information and Access Working Group will continue to provide input into the
web site. But the real intent is to have people who use the site provide direct
feedback to ensure its usefulness and relevance. Therefore we look to you to also
help drive the content and functionality of the site. Please
contact us and provide us with feedback.
To further support the accessibility of this tool, we invite your agency to establish a direct link to ASO411
from your website - for instructions click here.
